Physics Simulations

Interactive, quantitative labs for high school and AP / intro-college physics. Every sim is a single HTML file — embed anywhere with an iframe.

The Energy Lab

Interactive Unit 1 review: fill-in vocab with instant checks, sketchable system schemas with model diagrams, slider-built energy pie charts, and a self-scoring quiz.

EnergyUnit 1

PV Cycle Lab

Build a thermodynamic cycle by dragging state points. Per-leg W, Q, and ΔU accounting, Carnot & Otto presets, piston animation, efficiency vs. the Carnot limit.

ThermodynamicsAP Physics 2

Relativity Lab

Light clocks, length contraction, the cosmic-ray muon experiment, and the relativity of simultaneity — all driven by one v/c slider.

Modern PhysicsSpecial Relativity

Dune Buggy Challenge

Roll a ball down a ramp, off a table, and into a moving buggy. Students predict where the buggy must start, get one shot, and see the miss in centimetres. Rolling and ideal ramp models.

KinematicsProjectile Motion

Crash Box Challenge

A Hot Wheels car rolls down a ramp and crashes into a box you design. Calibrate with two photogates, measure the hit factor, discover that skid distance is proportional to release distance, then lock a prediction to land the box in a target zone. Box designer, live v–t graph, run log with data export, worked solution after each attempt.

KinematicsUniform Acceleration

When Worlds Collide

Two buggies, two equations, one crash. Students build x = vt + xᵢ, measure a virtual buggy off tape marks, time runs with a real stopwatch click, then lock a prediction for where two buggies 4.0 m apart will crash and test it.

KinematicsConstant Velocity

Motion Match

Self-checking review for constant-velocity motion. Match position graphs to velocity graphs (and back), graphs to equations x = vt + xᵢ, and graphs to written descriptions. A 50-question bank with 15, 25 or 50-question rounds, an explanation after each answer, and a score by match type with a retry-missed option.

KinematicsConstant Velocity

Constant Velocity Showdown

Projectable whiteboard review game for constant velocity. Four columns, one per standard (words & motion maps, position–time, velocity–time, equations & two objects), 100–400 point tiles, every team answers every question, built-in timer, 2–10 team scoreboard, and a wager Final Showdown.

KinematicsReview Game

Slope Stack

Build the full x–v–a stack: given a position graph, pick the matching velocity graph, then the acceleration graph. Later levels start from velocity. 2, 3 or 4 choices per question, wrong answers based on common mistakes, a live tangent line, an animated replay of each motion story, and the parabola → diagonal → flat → zero-line pattern.

KinematicsUniform Acceleration

Squares & Slopes

Scaffolded Unit 2 practice. Shade and count squares under a velocity–time graph to find displacement, then move to the v × Δt shortcut and negative area. Draw slope triangles on position–time graphs to find velocity, then build a v–t graph from an x–t graph. Endless randomized problems with step-by-step hints and mistake-specific feedback.

Kinematics Lab Guide

Student lab guide for the Universe & More Kinematics Lab (Match the Graph). Record starting position and velocity plans for position and velocity levels, answer check-in questions, predict final position from area, then submit.

Energy in Elastic Systems

Fully virtual student lab for Unit 4: pull a virtual spring, read the force sensor and the ruler, record stretch and force with built-in checks for the usual mistakes, place a best-fit line on a live graph, then use the area under it to find the stored energy. Sketch pad, energy pies, answer checks, print, and submit.

Interactive Calculus Lab

Calculus for AP Physics C students who haven't learned it yet. Shrink a secant line into a tangent, scrub linked x–v–a graphs (with a predict mode), add up Riemann rectangles against the exact integral, drill derivative and integral rules, solve Hank the Hamster's parachute drag equation, and slice a rod into dm to find M, xcm and I.

AP FRQ Grader

For teachers: grade AP Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Environmental Science free-response questions point by point. Load class rosters and student PDFs (matched to names automatically), view the scoring guidelines side by side, use keyboard shortcuts for every point, and export to CSV or Google Sheets. Runs entirely in the browser; nothing is uploaded.
